​Confusion rocks the Ebonyi student community as a second 'sole endorsement' surfaces, this time for Comrade Olisa Alfred, just hours after Ibeabuchi Moses (IBB) claimed a similar title.

​Just when the dust was beginning to settle on the endorsement of Comrade Ibeabuchi Moses (IBB) by one group of stakeholders, the Ebonyi State student political landscape has been thrown into another spin. In a press statement released this morning, Comrade Nwuruku Olisa Alfred announced that he has been endorsed as the 'sole candidate' of Ebonyi State for the office of NANS Senate President.

​The endorsement was reportedly made by the Ebonyi State NANS Stakeholders’ Forum, led by Comrade Okoro Offor Joshua (popularly known as Majesty). Olisa Alfred expressed profound gratitude for the move, describing it as an overwhelming surprise and a reminder that his consistency in the student movement is being recognized.

​Interestingly, this 'sole' endorsement allegedly happened yesterday—the same day IBB’s camp announced their own 'unanimous' backing from stakeholders in the axis. This 'clash of endorsements' has left many student observers wondering exactly which forum holds the ultimate authority in the state.

​In his statement, Olisa Alfred was quick to extend an olive branch, calling for unity among all student leaders in Ebonyi. He also used the opportunity to appreciate the Governor Francis Nwifuru-led government for creating an enabling environment for young leaders to thrive in the state.

​With two major candidates from the same state now claiming the 'sole' or 'unanimous' support of Ebonyi stakeholders, the road to the 2026 NANS National Convention is becoming increasingly heated.
