Controversial "Zazu" crooner, Portable, has once again proven that even behind bars, his sense of humor remains untouched. The singer, who regained his freedom on Monday, January 19, 2026, after a week-long stay in detention, wasted no time in addressing his fans with a classic "Portable-style" statement that has since gone viral across social media.
Following his release from a facility in Ogun State, Portable appeared in a video looking relieved but typically energetic. Reflecting on his time in custody, he jokingly compared his struggles to those of Nigerian music legend 2Baba (2Face Idibia), claiming that his own "tribulations" have surpassed anything the veteran singer has ever encountered.
"Watin my eye don see, 2Face never face am," Portable declared, sending his followers into fits of laughter. "They lied against me, but I am innocent. I am a child of Grace."
What Happened?
According to reports from PM News and Daily Post, Portable’s "holiday" behind bars wasn't exactly a voluntary one. He was arraigned before a Federal High Court in Ota on a nine-count charge including:
- Assault against his baby mama, Ashabi Simple, and her siblings.
- Theft of a motor vehicle.
- Resisting arrest.
While the prosecution opposed his bail initially, The Nation confirmed that the singer was eventually granted bail after his legal team argued that the charges were "domestic issues" blown out of proportion.
