Burna Boy Calls for NDDC Partnership to Drive Development in Ahoada

Nigerian music star Burna Boy has called for stronger collaboration with the Niger Delta Development Commission to drive meaningful development in his hometown of Ahoada West.

The Grammy-winning artist made this known during a recent visit to the commission, where he was warmly received by the Managing Director, Samuel Ogbuku.

During the engagement, Burna Boy emphasized that while individuals can contribute to community growth, sustainable development requires institutional support and strong infrastructure.

“We need NDDC for development,” he stated, highlighting the importance of collaboration in transforming local communities.

He further expressed readiness to personally invest in projects within his community, including plans for a school, healthcare facility, and water projects. These initiatives, reportedly worth over ₦300 million, are aimed at improving living standards in the area.

However, he stressed that without proper infrastructure—especially accessible roads—such investments may not achieve their intended impact.

In response, Samuel Ogbuku commended Burna Boy’s commitment to community development, describing him as a proud ambassador of the Niger Delta whose global influence can attract meaningful investment to the region.
