| Gumi et Khamenei |
Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, has described the late Iranian Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as a "lucky soul" following his death in a joint US-Israeli missile strike.
Reacting to the historic assassination that occurred on March 1, 2026, Gumi stated that dying in what he termed a "Jihad against oppression" is the highest honor a believer can attain.Gumi’s remarks come as Iran officially confirmed the "martyrdom" of the 86-year-old leader, who had anchored the Islamic Republic’s religious and political authority for over three decades. While the world remains on high alert over potential retaliation, the Kaduna-based cleric suggested that Khamenei’s end was a fulfillment of a spiritual journey, sparking intense debate among Nigerians regarding the intersection of global conflict and religious sentiment.
