"The Blood Is on You're Hands": Alex Barbie Issues Stern Warning to Nigeria Government Over Rebuilt Northern Community

​The humanitarian and American political commentator Alex Barbir has issued a fiery ultimatum to the Nigerian government following the reconstruction of Yawata, a community previously razed by terrorists. Alex, who spearheaded the funding and rebuilding efforts in the area, made it clear that while his team has come in good faith to help a people left with no other support, the burden of protecting those citizens now rests squarely on the shoulders of the state. Addressing the authorities, he warned that any failure to secure the newly rebuilt community would be viewed as a direct liability of the government.

​Addressing the local authorities and press, Alex Barbir noted that while there is a security presence currently, the fear of a vacuum remains high once the spotlight fades. He challenged the government, saying: "We’ve come in good faith, with good hearts, to help the people—to rebuild where nobody is helping. But you are responsible to secure your own people... I can’t come back and see that Yawata has been burned and killed again. If it happens, you are liable. It is your job to protect them." More so, Alex emphasized that the days of ignoring such tragedies are over, as the international community is now watching the specific geographic coordinates of the community.

​However, Alex Barbir has maintained that this project is being closely monitored by high-level figures in the United States, including Congressman Riley Moore, who supports the initiative. He warned the Nigerian government that they are under a global lens, stating: "The US government knows what has been done here. They know the attack... they know that we have rebuilt Yawata, and they support me... we are all monitoring what is happening here." Also, for the people of Yawata, this rebuilding represents a second chance at life, but as Alex sternly concluded, the "blood will be on the hands" of the government if they allow the community to fall into the hands of terrorists once again.
