IGP Deploys Tactical Team to Kwara, Orders Manhunt After Deadly Attack Claims 75 Lives

The Nigeria Police Force has swung into action following a horrific attack in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State that left at least 75 people dead.

The violent incident, which occurred on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, in Woro Bada Village, has been condemned as a "pure massacre" by Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, with reports indicating it was carried out by suspected terrorists or bandits.

In response, Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun has ordered the immediate deployment of tactical, operational, and intelligence assets to Kaiama and surrounding communities to restore calm and prevent further violence.

The police have also launched a full-scale investigation, vowing to bring all those involved to justice.

According to the IG of Police,

"The Force has launched an intensive manhunt for the perpetrators
and all individuals connected to this heinous crime.
We assure Nigerians that those responsible will be apprehended
and brought to book without delay."
