"I will not be silenced!" — Tracynither Nicolas Ohiri regains freedom, raises alarm over "human rights abuse" after N250M debt drama with Minister Umahi!

The drama involving the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, and businesswoman Tracynither Nicolas Ohiri has taken a fresh turn! After days in detention that sparked a massive social media outcry, Mrs. Ohiri has finally been released on bail in Abuja today, February 28, 2026.

​But if you think she’s going home to keep quiet, think again! Immediately after stepping out, the embattled businesswoman raised serious human rights concerns, describing her ordeal as a "brazen abuse of power".

​The tea is overflowing! For those who missed it, Tracynither was arrested in Lagos and flown to Abuja on allegations of cyberbullying the Minister. She claims Umahi has owed her a staggering N250 million for over 12 years for promotional materials supplied during his 2014 campaign—a claim the Minister has strongly denied.

​It got even messier when she alleged that the Minister once made unwanted sexual advances toward her—even claiming he once entered her hotel room wearing only a towel!. While the Minister’s camp insists the police are simply investigating a defamation petition, rights activist Omoyele Sowore, who was spotted confronting Umahi at the Force HQ, has labeled the whole situation an "illegal harassment" of a married woman over a civil debt.
