In a definitive statement that reshapes the political landscape of Rivers State, the Presidency has unequivocally declared Governor Siminalayi Fubara as the authentic leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) within the state. This assertion reported by Channels Television, sends a clear signal about the federal government's stance amidst ongoing political tensions.

Rivers State Politics: In APC, the leader of the party in Rivers State is Governor Fubara, Daniel Bwala

This direct affirmation came from the Presidency through a prominent representative, Daniel Bwala, speaking on  Channels Television. Bwala made a bold assertion regarding the power structure in the state, making it clear that party procedures must be respected. He noted that the President sticks to the position of the national chairman, which recognizes the sitting Governor as the party head.

"In Rivers State, Governor Fubara is the leader of the APC party in Rivers State. Wike is not a member of APC, so he can't speak for APC... In APC, the leader of the party in Rivers State is Governor Fubara."

Bwala further explained that while Nyesom Wike has been "adequately compensated" for his contributions, the President believes in doing the right thing rather than allowing personal interests to override party interest. He emphasized that President Tinubu believes in the rule of law and that the Governor must be allowed to govern without interference.

"The party is clear: nobody should stop Fubara from governing the state... the party sticks with the leaders of the party in their respective state," Bwala added.

This direct affirmation from the Presidency holds significant weight, especially in the context of recent political skirmishes within Rivers State. It serves as a strong endorsement of Governor Fubara's leadership and aims to bring clarity to the internal dynamics of the APC in the state. It is  anticipated that this move will  quell internal party discord and prevent unauthorized individuals from creating confusion regarding the party's official stance and direction.
