Known as the Queen of Afrobeats—a powerhouse of style, vocals, and stage presence, it is observed lately that there is a different kind of energy surrounding Tiwa Savage. It is an energy that speaks of a woman finding peace beyond the praise of the crowd, but in her relationship with a higher power. From emotional breakdowns on stage in Benin to a high-energy, spirit-led performance at the Calabar Carnival, Tiwa is showing us that her biggest "collab" recently isn't with another artist, but with her Creator.

At the Calabar Carnival: Prayer Before the Performance 

At the recent Calabar Carnival, before the "Feather" concert kicked off at the U.J. Esuene Stadium, a quiet moment was captured that set the tone for the night. Tiwa was seen communicating with a supreme being— a ritual which could be referred to prayer— before stepping out. This wasn't just a ritual; it was a visible acknowledgment of a supreme being before taking on a task. When she finally hit the stage, the energy was different from her recent outing in Benin Republic. She was vibrant and lively. 

In another moment at that event, Tiwa gifted a lucky fan named Emmanuel $1,000 on stage after he impressed her with his dance moves. But the real story wasn't the money—it was the joy and strength she seemed to have drawn from that pre-show prayer.

 A Shift in belief: More Than Just "Somebody’s Son"

For those who have followed her closely, this shift isn't a surprise. Tiwa once revealed a profound truth about her 2021 hit "Somebody’s Son." While the world sang it as a romantic anthem, she clarified that the song was actually about Jesus Christ and the longing for a divine love that never fails. This spiritual foundation has become more visible recently. In December 13, 2025, footage surfaced of Tiwa and her son, Jamil, attending a church service at Harvesters International Christian Centre—not as celebrities, but as worshippers. This predisposes that she is making a personal decision to live a life anchored in faith.

"I rather take the narrow Road": Tiwa 2026 Confession of Faith

On January 1st, 2026, Tiwa took to her X (formerly Twitter) page to start the year with a powerful declaration. In the video Tiwa was found praying and making a "Confession of Faith." She expressed gratitude to God who have helped her discoveref Him; she mentioned that she has kept her faith on Jesus amidst all odds. She reaffirmed that she would take the narrow way though the journey be long. And concluded by assuring herself that, "God is with me"
