"I’m ready to be held accountable!" — King Mitchy breaks down in public apology over substance use and disrespect to Ooni of Ife

After days of being the center of a heated storm, she has come forward to take full responsibility for her actions, specifically referring to the "substance" she was seen taking during a live broadcast.

​In a deeply emotional video, King Mitchy admitted that her behavior was a huge letdown to those who see her as a role model. "Good morning Nigerians. I'm ready to be held accountable for my actions. For some days I've thought about my behavior and I know that I was wrong and I want to be held accountable for the substance I took on live video," she stated. Acknowledging her influence, she added, "That was very wrong of me because there are young girls that are looking up to me... and I know I disappointed a lot of people. And I'm choosing life."

​The apology didn't stop there, as she turned her attention to her boss, ST, whom she admitted to disrespecting in the heat of the moment. While she had already reached out to him behind the scenes, she felt a public rectification was necessary. "I know I apologized privately, but I did not disrespect you privately. I disrespected you publicly, so I want to apologize publicly. I'm so sorry, sir. And I want you to know that I've never taken your support for granted," she pleaded.

​Moving to even higher authorities, Mitchy expressed deep regret for dragging the Ooni of Ife into the messy situation. With a heavy heart, she said, "And to the Ooni of Ife, I'm so sorry, sir. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry for bringing your name into this. I'm so sorry, daddy." This part of her apology has specifically touched many, as the monarch's name is highly revered across the country.

​Surprisingly, she also extended an olive branch to activist VeryDarkMan, whom she had previously clashed with. After a period of reflection, she admitted that she now sees his vision for a better country. "I see what you're fighting for. You're fighting for Nigerians and we can make Nigeria a better place. And I'm sorry for coming at you like that. Maybe now I understand you better... I see that you're fighting for a good cause... and you need more supporters, not people to fight you," she concluded.
