​"I Spoke Out of Anger": Businessman Chief Obinna Issues Public Apology to Minister Dave Umahi

In a dramatic turn of events, Chief Obinna Udenkama has released a formal video apology to the Honorable Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, retracting previous allegations of debt and personal misconduct. This development follows a widely circulated video where the businessman had accused the Minister of owing him N7 million for work done at the Osborne La Palm Hotel in Abakaliki.

​In the new recording, Chief Obinna described his previous statements as a "malicious outburst" born out of "anger and frustration." He clarified that the Minister does not owe him any money directly, a sharp reversal from his earlier claims that had set social media abuzz with debates over accountability.

​Chief Obinna, who had previously identified himself as the Minister’s former classmate at Government Secondary School, Afikpo, went as far as praising the Minister's character in the apology. "His Excellency Senator Umahi is a man of high integrity and a very good man," he stated, expressing regret for the derogatory nature of his earlier post.

​The businessman emphasized that the public apology was made on behalf of his wife, family, and well-wishers, and was not done under any form of duress or external pressure. He pleaded for the Minister’s forgiveness, promising never to repeat such an act.

​Legal Stakes and Public Reassurance

​To demonstrate his sincerity, Chief Obinna issued a bold challenge regarding his future conduct. He stated that should he ever "renege" or repeat these allegations, the Minister has his full permission to take the matter to court without any further notice.

​"God bless my leader, most distinguished Senator Engineer Dave Umahi, Akubaroha," the Chief concluded, signaling an end to the personal dispute that had briefly threatened the Minister’s public standing. This apology comes at a time when the Ministry of Works is facing various public pressures, providing a moment of relief for the "Akubaroha" of Ebonyi State.
