​A huge Happy Birthday is in order for one of Nigeria's most resilient voices! Today, February 16, 2026, the founder of Sahara Reporters and human rights activist Omoyele Sowore marks his 55th birthday.

​Known for his "RevolutionNow" movement and his "Sho Baba" spirit, Sowore shared a deeply reflective message that has fans and fellow activists cheering. In a post he titled "A Note to Self at 55," he revealed that he is looking far beyond just the numbers.

​From his days as a student leader at UNILAG to his multiple presidential runs and battles with the state, Sowore has consistently been a "disruptor" in Nigerian politics.
