Enugu State Begins Profiling and Arrest of Native Doctors Over Rising Criminality

Enugu State Government Arrest Native Doctor

The Enugu State Government has intensified its crackdown on illegal spiritual practitioners, initiating the arrest and profiling of native doctors linked to ritual killings and kidnapping.
Following a series of gruesome discoveries across the state, including the high-profile arrest of billionaire native doctor Levi Obieze (popularly known as "E Dey Show"), the administration of Governor Peter Mbah has vowed to sanitize the sector.

This enforcement drive follows the introduction of the "Maintenance of Internal Security, Vigilance and Order" bill, which mandates that all individuals offering spiritual services—including herbalists, chief priests, and seers—must officially register with the state. Failure to comply now carries stiff penalties, including up to two years imprisonment or heavy fines. The state government has already moved to demolish buildings used as hideouts for these activities, reiterating that no one is above the law.
